CLEO-c at CESR
In October 2005, Indiana Univeristy joined the CLEO-c Collaboration at Cornell University's Laboratory for Elementary Particle Physics. Matt Shepherd has been a CLEO-c collaborator since 2001, when he joined the collaboration as a Cornell University graduate student.
In the coming year the 30M ψ′ decays will be collected with the CLEO-c detector. Matt Shepherd and Ryan Mitchell are developing a program to do systematic amplitude analysis of hadronic χc decays from this data set. Hadronic χc decay provides a glue-rich environment ideal for probing the glueball spectrum. Studies of χc decay are also complementary to high statistics J/ψ results coming from the BES collaboration.
In addition to amplitude analysis, Ryan Mitchell is also part of a group responsible for maintaining the CLEO-c trigger hardware.
